On 8|08|2006 we uploaded a new document about the Moon
Society website, a 2-sided flyer in downloadable pdf format:
"Exploring
the Moon Society Website." This item is a second
addition to our new Welcome Packet.
On 4|15|2006 we uploaded a new document on the Moon Society
in pdf format: "Who We Are & What We Do" is available as
a 2-sided
flyer and as a tri-fold
brochure. This item was a first addition to our new
Welcome Packet.

Society brochure created for ISDC 2005, a downloadable
pdf file tri-fold brochure. It is included in our new
Welcome Packet aimed at new members and visitors.
On 5|17|2005 we revised and expanded a special "Mars
is in our Field of View" brochure originally created for
our booth at the Mars Society Convention 2004 (Chicago). It
is a downloadable tri-fold in pdf format.
On 8|24|2006 we uploaded three flyers in pdf format, created
for our booth at the Mars Society Convention 2004 (Chicago).
Lunar
& Martian Frontiers will have Much in Common
(2-sided) (pdf)
Moon
Society - Mars Society: Collaboration & Joint Project
Areas (2-sided)(pdf)
Mars
in Moon Miners' Manifesto (2-sided) (pdf)
On 3|06|2004 we merged applicable sections of the National
Space Society Chapters Handbook, v. 1998, into the Space
Chapter Hub pages, as much of this material will be useful
to Moon Society Chapters and Outposts. We also merged in
Mars Society Chapter Start-up-kits for College and High
School chapters as much of that material may be useful to
those wishing to start up Moon Society campus and high
school chapters. See the Chapter
Handbooks page.
On 6|05|03 we uploaded a Moon Society registration flyer, in
pdf format. Prepared for ISDC 2003 from a former Artemis
Society flyer, it will do for your outreach event until an
all new flyer and brochure can be prepared. Download the
flyer moon-memflyer.pdf
from the directory http://nsschapters.org/hub/pdf/
We also uploaded the letter mid-atlantic-renewal-letter.pdf
which you can also download from the directory http://nsschapters.org/hub/pdf/
This letter, composed by Randall Severy, was addressed to
all current and former members of the Moon Society and
Artemis Society International in the Mid-Atlantic chapter
area (Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia) in hopes of
encouraging greater participation in that chapter. You can
use it as a model to prepare a similar letter to help build
the membership in your chapter or outpost. Use the text tool
in your Adobe Acrobat Reader to grab the text and import it
into your own document.
We also uploaded the slide or transparency LunarSolarPowerSystem.pdf
to the same directory.
This is a diagram of how solar power generated on the east
and west limbs of the Moon (one or the other always in
sunlight) could be relayed back to Earth. This is part of
Doctor David Criswell's Lunar Solar Array scheme.
On 12|01|02 we uploaded plans
for a tabletop banner holder made from 1" PVC pipe and
fittings.
On 11|13|02 we uploaded plans for an 18" diameter lazy susan
turntable "Walkaround
Tour" diorama with the Artemis
Moonbase model in the center, as an alternative to the
diorama plans previously uploaded. This display uses the 15
pictures from the Artemis
Moonbase Walkaround Tour.
On 11|12|02 we uploaded step by step instructions for an
easy to replicate Artemis
Moonbase model to sit on the Artemis Moonbase diorama
at the foot of the Artemis
Moonbase Storyboard. These instructions include two
options at two levels of difficulty. [photo

On 11|06|02 we uploaded step by step instructions for
putting together an exhibit about the Artemis Moonbase, with
trifold
storyboard, featuring the color Artemis
Poster, ready to print side panel images and text in pdf
format, and an easy
to make moonscape diorama.
At the Moon Society Board meeting on this date, we
accepted the position of Chapters
Coordinator. Tim Cadell had held the post most
recently.
On 11|01|02 we uploaded a website
template designed as a possible option for Moon Aociety
Chapters & Outposts
On 10|30|02 we proposed this second Moon
Society Logo (2) to the Web-Team. Again, the thinking
behind this sketch is explained on the linked page.
On 10|19|02 we proposed this Moon
Society Logo to the Moon Society Web-Team. The Moon
Society has been sans logo from the outset, The web team is
now charged with refreshing the website and one of the
action items is a new web logo. Feedback on the design
suggests that the blue of the title outline be switched with
the red of the figure 8 orbit. That way everything looks
fine in black and white versions. So far its just a
proposal. The thinking behind it is explained on the linked
page.
On
10|13-16|02, we uploaded three flyers, updated versions of
Lunar Reclamation Society flyers from the late 1980s:
12Q_LunarLavatubes.pdf
- This is a two sided flyer answering common
questions about the idea of Settlements on the Moon.
15Q_LunarSettlement.pdf
- This is a two sided flyer answering common
questions about the idea of Settlements on the Moon.
20Q_LunarResources.pdf
- This is a two sided flyer answering common questions about
Resources on the Moon
On
10|12|02 - for those who want
to try their own hand(s) at making a set of "gravity bricks"
for their chapter or group, we have uploaded a full
set of illustrated step by step instructions (including
materials list, tools list, and options.)
On
10|8|02, we uploaded three flyers and one transparency
LunarDeclarationSFF.pdf
- This flyer contains the Lunar Declaration statement
prepared by the Space Frontier Foundation for the first
Lunar Development Conference in Houston, July 1999, signed
by all attendees. It gives all the "whereas"s and
"therefore"s of why we need to return to the Moon to
stay.
FrontierEnablingTest.pdf.
This Space Frontier Foundation statement gives the criteria
by which we can judge whether and existing or proposed
technology helps open the Space Frontier, or is a
sidetrack.
MoonPieChart.pdf.
Use this color flile as a poster or transparency. The Moon
may be "Pie in the Sky" but, oh, what a recipe! Just what we
need to make metal alloys, glass, ceramics, concrete and
other building materials. The grounds for economic and
industrial self-reliance.
MoonPieChartBW.pdf.
Use this B/W version of the above as a flyer. Best
printed in grayscale. Has blank space in box for your
chapter name and contact information.
On
10|7|02, we uploaded six flyers and transparencies in pdf
format to the Space
Chapter Hub website
MoonGlobeFlyer.pdf
- This flyer, either in a vertical acrylic flyer holder
(clear 8x10 photo holder) , or as take with flyer, is a good
companion to a Moon Globe, if you have one for your
information table.
MoonHomesteadFlyerA.pdf
and MoonHomesteadFlyerB.pdf
- This pair of pdf files (one portrait, the other
landscape) forms a double-sided flyer. LRS produced this
flyer to explain what the visitor was seeing when he or she
looked at our table top moonbase homestead. But with the
diagram on the one side, the explanation on the other, this
two-sided flyer is informative in itself. Plus it gives the
URL for a photo of the table top exhibit.
MoonSocChapterGoals.pdf
- a flyer that lists the goals of a Moon Society Chapter -
Produced by the Moon Society Milwaukee Outpost, and intended
to cover all the bases.
MoonToStayPetition.pdf
- This is a petition LRS (NSS-Milwaukee) has used in
the past. Even if you don't turn the petitions in to anyone,
the act of signing it helps reinforce a positive opinion in
the mind of the signer, and you get his or her contact
information as a fringe benefit.
MoonTreatyObjections.pdf
- This was written by Prof. Glenn Harlan Reynolds
(law) and helps educate the public on relevant legal
questions
And three color transparencies, also in pdf form
RelativeSizesPoster.pdf
- Relative Sizes: Earth, Moon, Mars - Color file meant to be
used as a poster or as a transparency
SpaceMotorcycle.pdf
- The is a minimial open-vacuum lunar ascent vehicle for two
persons (in the Artemis Project Refernce Mission).
Artwork © by Vik Olliver - This is a color file meant
to be used as a poster or as a transparency
SystemTradeRoutesTP.pdf
- Inner Solar System Trade Routes based on the location of
resources, gravity wells, and prospects for economic
development - Color file meant to be used as a poster or as
a transparency
On
9|20|02, we came up with a "cheaper
and much easier"* way of demonstrating the
Earth>Mars>Moon gravity differences, and made the
first set of "Gravity
Jugs", and posted the instructions to make your own set
online on the Space
Chapters Hub websiteSpace
Chapter Hub website. [* less than $5 in less than an
hour]
