About Us
The Moon Society's purpose is to encourage the
development of a vigorous pro-space movement in India, in light of
public enthusiasm over the successful launch and mission of
Chandrayaan-I. The Moon Society was started in India on November
14, 2009 under the leadership of Jayashree Shridhar,
Pradeep Mohandas and Avinash Siravuru.
The Moon Society is an international educational
and scientific non-profit organisation founded in USA in 2000 by
Gregory R. Bennett in the United States and now has a growing presence
in Sweden, Chile, Australia and Canada besides the USA. The Moon
Society seeks to overcome the social, technological, financial and
business challenges to the establishment of a permanent,
self-sustaining human presence on the Moon.

Moon Miners Manifesto India Quarterly
The Moon Society publishes the MMM-India
Quarterly (Moon Miners' Manifesto India Quarterly) in
electronic PDF format, for free publication and distribution within
India (and elsewhere) - the first issue was published in November 2008.
Current
Issue [PDF] MMM-India Quarterly #5 published January 11, 2010.
NEW- Introducing the MMM-India Bulletin Urgent News: Sometimes there is a need to communicate information on a much more
timely ans immediate basis. The first such case in hand is the shifting
of the location of the SEDS-India Conference, SINC10, to Vellore
Technical Institute (where SINC09 was held last year) and resetting the
dates from February to late March. To
handle "breaking news announcements" and "press releases" we are
introducing the Bulletin. This will enable us to respond to breaking
events in a much more timely fashion, without having to advance
pre-scheduled publication of M3IQ or increase the frequency of
publication to bi-monthly or monthly
Moon Miners' Manifesto:
The Moon Society's regular monthly (ten issues annually) publication,
Moon Miners' Manifesto, is distributed in two forms. A hardcopy is
mailed to those who pay a dues rate sufficient to cover mailing and
other membership-associated expenses. A PDF version, earlier sooner and
in color, is published to an online directory where those with Moon
Society usernames and passwords can download the current and all
previous issues, since May 2001 MMM #145 when publication of the PDF
version began.
The MMM-Classics Program:
Meanwhile, all the "non-time-sensitive" articles of the earlier years
of Moon Miners' Manifesto, which has been published without
interruption since issue #1 in December 1986, have been collected in
PDF file versions, one per publication year, and put in an online
directory for free access by anyone, no username and password required.
The MMM
Classics currently cover the first twenty years, issues #1 (Dec. 1986)
through #200 (Nov 2006).
Free Sample Issues:
Additionally, a directory
of the Editor's Pick of Current Issues is kept on another
free access directory on the site of his home chapter in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin - the Lunar Reclamation Society
MMM-derived Papers:
Also free
access are a list of papers that have been assembled from
various MMM articles on specific topics.
An MMM Glossary: A
more recent effort is the start of a Glossary
of terms used in MMM in a special sense: new words and old
words with new meanings.
